Visiting Trieste Science Park
On July 9 and 10, the PhD students are invited to visit the Area Science Park of Trieste and Automotive Lighting of Tolmezzo.
In the afternoon of the 9th, various facilities of the research area of the Area Science Park will be visited, including the Synctrotron Facility of Elettra and the IOM. Area Science Park is a research infrastructure of excellence belonging to a network with a strong international connotation in which very diverse research is conducted. These often take advantage of the availability of synchrotron light (produced in the ELETTRA ring) for analysis and imaging otherwise impossible to conduct. Like all the big accelerators, the Sinctrotrone is also in itself a Big Data generator. IOM is instead an infrastructure dedicated to the manufacture and characterization of innovative materials for numerous applications. The morning of 10.7 will be dedicated to Automotive Lighting, a company of excellence in the production of headlight groups for car manufacturers, in which multidisciplinary expertise in materials, mechanical design, electronic and photonic hardware and firmware and software are aimed at the production of components essential for the functionality and aesthetics of vehicles for greater individual and daily use.

Il 9 e 10 Luglio i dottorandi sono invitati ad una vistia presso Area Science Park di Trieste e Automotive Lighting di Tolmezzo, realtą di ricerca e industriali decisamente attive nel campo della ricerca.
Nel pomeriggio del 9 saranno visitate varie strutture del polo della ricerca di Area Science Park fuori Trieste tra cui la Synctrotron Facility di Elettra e lo IOM. Area Science Park č una infrastruttura di ricerca di eccellenza appartenente ad un network a forte connotazione internazionale nella quale vengono condotte ricerche molto diversificate. Queste traggono spesso vantaggio dalla disponibilitą di luce di sincrotrone (prodotta nell'anello ELETTRA) per analisi ed imaging altrimenti impossibili da condurre. Come tutti i grandi acceleratori la Sinctrotrone č anche di per sč un Big Data generator. IOM č invece una infrastruttura dedicata alla fabbricazione e caratterizzazione di materiali innovativi per numerose applicazioni. La mattina del 10.7 sarą dedicata ad Automotive Lighting, una realtą di eccellenza nella produzione di gruppi fanale per case automobilistiche all'interno della quale competenze multidisciplinari di materiali, progettazione meccanica, Hardware elettronico e fotonico e di Firmware e Software sono finalizzate alla produzione di componenti essenziali per la funzionalitą e l'estetica dei veicoli di maggiore uso individuale e quotidiano.
