How to reach us

By plane:

The Department of Engineering "Enzo Ferrari" (DIEF) of Modena is approximately 40 km away from Bologna airport “G. Marconi”. The airport is connected to Modena by a bus shuttle. The shuttle stops close to both the Department (Modena Ist. Vignolese) and the hotel area (Modena bivio Stazione FS).

By car:

Modena lies at the crossing between the A1 and A22 highways.

  • coming from Milan (A1) or Verona (A22), leave the highway at the toll booth Modena Nord and follow the Tangenziale Nord (SS12), direction Bologna, up to the exit 26 (Polo Universitario).
  • coming from Bologna (A1), leave the highway at the toll booth Modena Sud and follow the Via Vignolese (SP623), direction Modena; after passing the roundabout with a big glass grape in its center, turn right past 200m in via Gelmini. You will see the Engineering Campus on the left.

By train:

check the (perfectible) Trenitalia website for timetables to reach the Modena central station.
Advised hotels are very close to the train station.
Three different bus lines connect the train station to the Workshop venue:

  • n. 2 (destination San Damaso/San Donnino)
  • n. 7 or 7A (destination Via Gottardi)
  • n. 9 (destination Via Gottardi)

Tickets (€ 1.20) can be purchased directly on the bus (attention: the cash machine gives no change!). For timetables, see the SETA website (Italian only)
